The miniSMU MS01 uses LED indicators to provide immediate feedback on its status and includes several physical controls. Understanding these indicators and controls will help you operate the device effectively and diagnose any issues that may arise.
Status LEDs
Each channel on the miniSMU MS01 has a dedicated status LED on the front panel that provides information about the channel's current state.
Channel Status LEDs (one for each channel)

| Solid Green | Channel active | Channel is active and operating within normal parameters |
| Solid Red | Protection mode | Channel is in protection mode due to current or voltage limit being exceeded |

WiFi Status LED (rear panel)
The WiFi status is indicated by an LED adjacent to the WiFi antenna connector:

Physical Controls
Power Switch
Located on the rear panel, this toggle switch turns the device on and off:
- ON position - Device is powered on
- OFF position - Device is completely powered off
Always ensure the device is properly shut down through software before using the power switch to turn it off, if possible, to prevent data loss.
User Button
Located on the rear panel, this button serves some general functionality:
To reset the miniSMU to its factory firmware state, hold this button whist powering on the device and continue to hold for 10 seconds. Upon releasing, the miniSMU will revert back to its factory programmed firmware version.
Computer Control Interface
Most functions and settings of the miniSMU MS01 are controlled via the companion software installed on your computer. The device connects to your computer either through the USB-C port or via WiFi.
Software Interface Controls
The software provides a comprehensive interface for:
